About Barry

I am a typical accidental instructional designer. While I thought I was destined to work in international education, my instructional design career actually started while advising international scholars visiting the US when, in 2016, I came up with the idea to create a 10-part online course series for those very scholars in order to provide them a more interactive way to disseminate information on adjust to and engaging in life in the United States that they could do at their own pace and on their own time.

Since then, I have continued to develop my instructional design and learning experience design skills in a variety of capacities. I have developed education and training content for healthcare professionals, higher education professionals, individuals with developmental and cognitive disabilities, and employees.

I am skilled in using tools such as Storyline and Rise 360, Camtasia, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe InDesign, Canva, Vyond, Moovly, and more. I also have experience using Learning Management System platforms, including Canvas, LearnUpon, Cornerstone, and EthosCE.

Outside of instructional design, I love being outside, yoga, fitness, skiing, reading, movies, traveling, watching other peoples’ dogs, and spending time with family and friends.
